Licence Area Profiles

The information in these profiles is based on Licence Area Plans (LAPs) which are the licenced broadcast areas for each station. LAPs are determined by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

As all stations have coverage that extends beyond their Licence Area boundaries the information in the Profiles is the minimum measure of the people and industries that can be reached by the radio stations in a licence area.

The statistical information used is derived from a variety of sources including the ABS 2011 Census. In particular, for the current set of profile data the ABS has implemented category changes for the Agriculture data.

The Commercial Radio Market Profiles are collated every five years after each official Census and provide a wealth of information about commercial radio as a medium.
